To my fellow Association Members,
To recap our projects this year, we installed digital sprinkler boxes and rain sensors which have helped water conservation, even though this last summer was dry. We also installed the Astroturf behind buildings 04, 08, 10, and 20. The residents seem to appreciate that since it cleaned up the area and made the backs of the buildings much more presentable. In addition, we established a park area with paving stones between buildings 14 and 16. It provides a spot for peace and tranquility for residents to enjoy the waterside. Finally, as part of this project, we installed an experimental retaining wall behind part of building 18. The wall has worked well, and we should consider extending it behind building 16.
I am one of the few remaining original owners, now going on 36 years living here. I have served on the Board of Directors for 14 of those years. I feel it is time for someone with new eyes and enthusiasm to take the reins. And by “enthusiasm,” I do not mean going wild with frivolous spending. There will always be new projects to do, but regular daily operations are the most important. I have worked very hard over the years to establish our financial stability. Spending wisely but always looking to update and upkeep our community. Expenditures, increases, and the budget have always been carefully considered. I care about my community, the welfare of the association, and the well-being of all. I am very thankful to the people who have served with me and those who have worked beside me, offering their time and patience and helping with special projects, upkeep, and everyday operations. I will continue to advise and assist the Board of directors as may be needed. I am sure you will continue seeing me outside digging in the dirt as usual. It has been a pleasure to serve my community.
Enclosed you will find an application to the Board. If you feel that being of assistance to your community may be of interest to you, please consider submitting your application. In addition, if you would like to discuss being on the Board, I would be more than happy to discuss it and answer any questions. Being on the Board can be very rewarding as you work to better your community. The Board of Directors is a team. With residents assisting and contributing, we all win.
Blessings for the upcoming Holidays.
